In October 1998, Joan & Thom
acquired the Octagon House -- a cute glass house that sits on the hill
above the inn.
After a thorough renovation,
we began renting The Octagon. The house has two bedrooms, two full
bathrooms, a living room, and full kitchen. Downstairs there is a small
utility room with a washer and dryer and a ski storage area. Other
amenities include a TV, VCR, DVD player, telephones, a microwave, and a lovely
Hearthstone gas fireplace. For your summer enjoyment, a charcoal grill and table
and chairs make cooking and dining on the deck a treat.
We have recently added free
wireless DSL.
Winter and Fall: $200 per night midweek (two-night minimum);
$550 two-night non-holiday weekend; $750 three-night non-holiday weekend; $1400 non-holiday week.
Holidays: $300 per night (three-night minimum). No weekly rate.
Holidays are Christmas/New Years Weeks, Martin Luther King Weekend, Presidents' Week, and
Columbus Day Weekend. Summer: $175 per night midweek (two-night minimum);
$400 two-night weekend; $1000 per week. The Vermont State Tax of 9% will be added to all bills.
While no food at the inn is included in these prices, we are happy to discuss
a rate with dinner and breakfast at non holiday times.
Possible discounts available for early- and late-season rentals.
A credit card number is required
at the time of booking. If the reservation is canceled within 21
days, 50% will be charged to the credit card unless The Octagon is rebooked
exactly as the original booking. If the reservation is canceled within
7 days, 100% will be charged to the credit card. We prefer cash, travelers
checks, or personal check for final payment and accept MasterCard and Visa.
Children are welcome at The Octagon
but pets are not allowed.
For your convenience, we stock
the house with coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cereal, milk, sugar, and orange
juice. Of course there are also plenty of sheets, towels, pillows,
and blankets.
